Yogalates
Yogalates combines yoga with pilates and focuses on increasing your strength, suppleness and stamina. The course is suitable for all ages and abilities including those with some experience of yoga.
Yogalates classes will include exercises and poses to cultivate strength, stamina, stability and flexibility with particular attention paid to building tone in the deeper postural “core” muscles. These protect the spine against injury, support the internal organs and foster pelvic and spinal awareness to promote good posture
You’ll study the basic postures to allow you to exercise your whole body safely. It’s suitable for all ages because you’ll work within your own limits to increase strength, suppleness and stamina.
Yoga is about bringing harmony into life through a balance of physical exercises combined with concentration and breathing control.
By the end of the course you’ll be able to:
- Perform the basic sequence of moves safely
- Perform a warm up routine
- Perform a relaxation routine.
Yogalates is suitable for all ages and is a very safe and accessible method making it ideal for sufferers of back pain, arthritis, and osteoporosis and is particularly beneficial for post natal women.
Entry Requirements
Before the course begins you’ll be asked questions about your general health to make sure that the course is suitable for you. If you are pregnant we advise that you speak to your doctor before starting this course. You’ll need to bring a large towel or blanket & mat and wear comfortable clothes suitable for working on the floor.
Restorative Yoga / Pilates Class
This groundbreaking class is open to all! The path to renewing, restoring, and healing for people who are exhausted, anxious, or stressed has come to Sligo. We offer a a wonderful one-hour session of restorative poses, aromatherapy, reiki, breath awareness, and guided meditation. Whether you are recovering from an illness or you just need to be treated with TLC, this class is for you. In a world of constant overwork and over stimulus, it is imperative to find a meditative sanctuary. Come join us in this inward healing journey and have at least one hour a week when you are completely cared for! There are no pre-requisites. Please bring along a cushion & a blanket for the relaxation part of the class.
